In this article, we will see how to create profiles for your customers under two main types:
based on how they interact with you in regards to their size, reach and requests.
Create an Individual Customer
When you have to create a profile for a person who contacts you directly to get the works done at their site by following the steps in the order:
Note: Considering that an Individual customer corresponds with you on a one-to-one basis, you will not find any provision to link a secondary person, referred to as customer contact, for the Individual customer.
If in case your customer corresponds via any other person, say an assistant or agent, we recommend you to create the customer's profile as a Company Customer and add the additional contacts as customer contacts.

PREREQUISITES
A few items you'll need in hand before you proceed to handling Individual customer:
The customer's name, phone number, primary address, email address and postal address.
The customer location, ideally their address
Choosing the Individual customer type
STEP 1 From the main menu bar on the left panel, select the Customers icon.
In the Customers workspace, click the CREATE button and select the customer type you would like to create.
First we will see how to create an Individual customer. For example, an individual customer is created for the sole owner of a cafe.
STEP 2 Enter the mandatory details of the customer as well as any other information you may need on a daily basis.
The remaining details can be filled in later once the customer is created.

Adding a customer site for the Individual Customer
STEP 3 Any site associated with the customer can be provided during the customer creation process. However, it is not a mandatory step, you may do so any time later.
Add the sites to keep a record of the where the customer needs your services.
The sites you enter here will automatically appear in context to the customer when you create jobs for them. An example is shown below:
Creating the Individual Customer
STEP 4 Lastly, go ahead and create the individual customer.
The customer is now recorded as an Individual customer in your Loc8 system.

Create a Company Customer
Learn how to create customers in Loc8 for establishments who engage with you through their contacts to get jobs done on assets and sites
In this article, we will see how to create profile for a customer that is an enterprise, business or organisation who engages with you through one or more of their employees at their sites.
NOTE: In case your customer is just about any person who corresponds with you directly for their works, then you may choose to create them as Individual customers.

PREREQUISITES
A few items you'll need in hand before you proceed to handling Company customer:
The Company customer's name, phone number, primary address, email address and postal address
The names of the primary and billing contact, and their phone numbers and email addresses
The site addresses
Choosing the Company Customer type
STEP 1 In the Customers workspace, click the CREATE button and select the customer type you would like to create.
In this case, select Company from under the CREATE button.
STEP 2 Enter the mandatory details of the customer as well as any other information you may need on a daily basis. The remaining details can be filled in later once the customer is created.
For example, a real estate company that has been created as a Company Customer is shown below:
Adding a customer contact for the Company Customer
Under Contacts, you can add the customer's Primary contact and Billing contact during the customer creation.
Adding a site for the Company customer
Expand the customer inspector and click +Add Site.
Here you can add a new row for each locations owned by the customer.
The sites are most likely where your team will visit for completing jobs. If the customer has more than one site you can add all of them here.
Creating the Company Customer
STEP 4 Lastly, go ahead and create the customer.
Specifying a contact for each customer site
Once you have added the sites and created the customer, you can go back to the customer inspector and add the contacts for each sites.
The list of all users in your Loc8 system will be displayed here, from which you may select the appropriate site contact.
This is how you can record all your customers in your Loc8 system.
