Loc8 comes with built-in notification system that sends out standard messages through emails and in-app notifications to inform the people responsible or participating in the ongoing work about occurrence of certain events relevant to them, such as a new job creation and completion, quote rejection or acceptance etc.
You can edit the standard messages to align the language used in your business and also create you own messages under Settings -> Message Templates.
Once you have the messages ready, you need to do a one-time configuration under Settings -> Automation to define the events for which the messages must be sent as notifications and to whom they should be sent.
This article shows you the step-by-step procedure for creating messages and saving them as message templates.
Accessing the Message Templates
STEP 1 Go to the Settings page to access Message Templates.
STEP 2 Open Message Templates.
STEP 3 Select one of the entity types and select the required message template.
STEP 4 Open a pre-built message template to view and edit or create your own message in a new message template.
Customising the Message Templates
Whether you are editing an existing message template or creating a new one, the most important component that you will need some information on are the dynamic variables.
The dynamic variables act like placeholders for the actual values that will be inserted in its place when the notification is triggered and the message template goes live.
See the highlighted variables in the example below:
Check out all the variables that you may use to construct message templates for any type in the assisting article Variables used in Message Templates.
Your message templates are ready.
Now, make sure that you have configured the notifications. For more information on turning on the notifications for an already active automation rules, read Configure Standard Notifications.
If you have access to configuring the Automation Rules, ensure that the correct automation rule exists and are enabled, and that you have added the message template in the dedicated automation rule.
