Attachments can be any document or image file whose size is not more than 18MB. The files can be attached to - jobs, quotes and assets from both the Loc8 web browser and the Loc8 Mobile app.
In the Loc8 browser app, you can attach them directly to the job inspector, quote inspector or asset inspector.
If you're including attachments in emails in order to share files or documents with the recipient, you will find the attachments in the associated job inspector, quote inspector or asset inspector under the Files tab.
When using the Loc8 Mobile app, you can attach them to your jobs as you go. All the attachments will automatically appear in the associated job inspector, quote inspector or asset inspector under the Files tab.
All the attachments that are available within a job, quote or asset can be grouped and categorised using Tags.
Tags associated with the attachments will assist you in finding and cataloguing information with respect to jobs, quotes and assets. For more information, see Tagging the attachments.
Uploading attachments to a Job in the Loc8 browser app
Go to the Jobs area, and select the job you want to attach the file to.
On the inspector, click the More Options icon and select Upload attachment from the dropdown.
In the Attachment window, click and browse through the files you want to associate with the job. Then click UPLOAD.
Once the files have been uploaded, you can access them under the Files tab of this job.
Uploading attachments in email within the Loc8 browser app
When sending an email, you may want to include attachments in order to share important files or documents with the recipient. To do this, follow these steps:
Go to the Jobs area, and select the job you want to associate the attach the file to.
On the inspector, click the Share and export icon.
This is where your job can be shared with any recipient in an exported format of your choice, supported with attachments.
Enter the details in the email, and in the attachment section, browse through the files you want to send to the recipient of this job.
Click SEND.
Once the email has been sent, the files will simultaneously appear under the Files tab of this job.
Uploading attachments from the Loc8 Mobile app
For people in your team using their smartphones or tablets to execute jobs at the customer locations, attachments are the easiest way to capture data on site.
To add attachments to the job, see the steps below:
Tap on the job you want to add the attachments to.
In the job inspector, click the Files tab.
The Files tab displays all the current attachments associated with the job and allows you to add new photos or documents.
Tap the + icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen. Then select the images or documents you wish to attach to the job.
The uploaded attachments will also reflect in the Loc8 browser app under the Jobs inspector -> Files tab so you will always have an up-to-date view of all the attachments associated with the job coming from either the mobile or the browser platforms.
Viewing the uploaded attachments
In the Files tab, you will find that all of the attachments have an eye icon.
Click the eye icon for viewing the attachment.
The view icon opens the particular attachment allowing you to click forwards and backwards (use the arrow buttons on the image) in the series so you can view all of the other photos or documents in the Files tab of the job.
Editing the name of an attachment
The attachment names can be edited inline with just a click of button.
All you have to do is open the Files tab. Hover over an attachment name. A pencil icon will appear indicating you can edit the name. Simply click and enter the new name.
NOTE: Unline tag names (see Tagging the Attachments), the editing action on an attachment allows you to keep same name for multiple files.
The edited names will occur in all the occurences of the file such as when you launch the file viewer as well as the names of the attachment visibile in the Loc8 Mobile app.
Deleting an attachment
Open the attachment in the view mode. Click Delete on the top left corner of the file.
Downloading an attachment
Open the attachment in the view mode. Click Download on the bottom right corner of the file.
Cataloguing attachments using tags
To ensure the attachments are easily catalogued and retreived on time, we recommend using tags for your files.
