New and improved

Configurable in-app notifications

  • For systems with the automation addon enabled, it is now possible to send in-app notifications to users, technicians and contractors, as an optional delivery medium, alongside email and SMS (i.e. one rule could be used to send both an email and an in-app notification)

  • In-app notification messages are defined on a message template, and configured to send via automation rules (as per existing functionality for email notifications)

  • In-app notifications will appear on the browser app, and will soon be available on the "Field service (2025)" mobile app

Message template custom field support

  • Message templates (as used for sending emails, in-app notifications, sms messages etc) now support custom fields for the related entity

    • For example, if you have a message template configured for use in asset based notifications, you could include a custom field called "age" using the following variable {{baseAsset.customField[age].value}}

Job status change improvements

  • When changing the status of a job, you can click on the History link to view a summary of historical status changes

    • In addition, any comments or attachments that were associated with the historical status change can be used to pre-fill the current status change values

  • For systems with the visits module enabled, jobs can be moved to any status irrespective of it's current status

    • Previously, there were non-configurable / system level restrictions that prevented the free movement between statuses

  • Optionally, all incomplete activities can now be rejected when changing a job to a completed status

Activity improvements

  • When adding an activity to a job, the activity library is now searchable by its reference field

  • When adding multiple activities to a job from the library it is now possible to specify both the quantity value, and the number of copies to be added, where

    • quantity is the unit value on each individual activity

    • copies are the number of instances of the activity that will be added to the job

  • Contractor portal administrators can now manage certain aspects of an activity under certain conditions

    • If they or one of their portal users or technicians completed the activity, the admin can

      • Modify the activity result

      • Modify the activity result date/time

    • If they or one of their portal users or technicians added the activity, the admin can

      • Edit the activity

      • Delete the activity

      • Comment on the activity

      • Attach a file to the activity

  • When completing an activity with a result type of list, items are now searchable

  • Multiple files are now selectable when adding attachments to activities

  • Minor improvements to the behaviour of quantity on new activities

  • Minor improvements to the activity result UI to better support long values

Other

  • A dedicated mobile phone field has been rolled out across most contacts, including users, customers, customer contacts and so on

    • Previously most contacts had only a single phone field

  • When moving an asset, new locations in the status of scrapped are no longer listed by default. A Show scrapped assets button has been added to optionally show them if required.

  • A No region option has been added to the Region boundaries filter in the Job, Quote and Asset workspaces

  • General performance improvements

Bug fixes

  • An issue causing incorrect assignee history on jobs has been resolved

  • An issue has been resolved that prevented new job assignment notifications from being emailed

  • An issue has been resolved which prevented appointment history from being recorded on systems with visits enabled

  • An issue has been resolved which prevented contractors for accessing sub-activities

  • An issue has been resolved that occasionally prevented users from reporting a problem against assets

  • An issue that was causing incorrect workspace counts to appear for contractors has been resolved

  • An issue that was causing incorrect workspace counts when applying regional filters has been resolved

  • An issue that was causing incorrect activity counts on various screens has been resolved

  • An error that occurred when linking notifications to projects has been resolved

  • An issue that prevented users from editing asset custom fields has been resolved

  • Minor fixes to quick search behaviour and linking

  • Minor UI fixes

  • General bug fixes
