What is an Asset in Loc8?
An asset can be a physical item (a unit or a sub-component of a unit) or just a site owned by a customer that may include a number of buildings and assets, where each customer may have multiple sites.
Assets need timely repair and recurrent servicing. By keeping a record of your customers' assets in Loc8, you are able to easily maintain and manage assets per customer per site, quickly action them with jobs when receiving urgent requests from customers, and proactively help your customers with timely maintenance schedules for their critical and valuable assets.
What is Site in Loc8?
A site pinpoints the actual address where the customer assets are set up. A site may include a number of customer properties and assets (either owned or leased), where each customer may have multiple sites. In comparison to site, a location implies a generic place (a piece of a real estate property, a building, floor, room etc.) where one or more customer assets are located.
In Loc8, assets are created with a well-defined structure to ensure that your growing list of customer assets are easy to browse, manage and move across sites.
You have complete control in designing the asset structure and create assets per customer per site with the help of custom parameters, asset data groups, and asset types - the three building blocks of an asset in Loc8.
You will create a custom parameter, which is the tiniest building block of the asset structure, to describe an attribute, property, or specification of an asset.
Asset Data group
You will create an asset data group to help you group one or more custom parameters and easily use them to describe newly created assets.
You will create asset types to classify all of the different varieties of assets your company looks after. If the assets form a hierarchical relation, for example, a component and its sub-components, you can create asset types in a hierarchy to correlate and manage them better.
